HOW TO WASH YOUR JEANS
In order to enjoy your maternity jeans for as long as possible,
you should note some important guidelines for care that will help
you to maintain the material, wash, and fit of your jeans
during your pregnancy.
1. Turn the temperature down-- since your maternity jeans are partially
made of stretch material, always make sure to wash your jeans at no
more than 40 degrees Celsius. At higher temperatures, the
stretch material shrinks and your maternity jeans lose their form.
2. Buttons and zippers should always be protected when you wash
your maternity jeans – that way you prevent them from being caught
and broken in the spin cycle, keeping your pregnancy jeans in the best
condition.
3. Your maternity jeans like it rough-- so never, ever use fabric softener
when you wash the jeans you wear during your pregnancy! The chemicals
in fabric softener can affect the stretch material in your maternity jeans, so that
they shrink, horrible for comfort and a good fit--the fibers completely lose their
function, making your maternity jeans cling to your legs like a wet sack.
4. For laundry detergent, you should always choose either color or delicates detergent. Regular laundry detergent has lighteners that will quickly make your maternity jeans look washed out.
5. You should always turn your maternity jeans inside out when you wash them, since every time you wash them they lose a little of their color. By turning them inside out, you protect the outer part of your maternity jeans, so they stay as good as new!
6. Your jeans dry just as well in the fresh air! You should never, ever put your jeans in the dryer. Synthetic stretch material is an important component of your maternity jeans, providing optimal comfort during your pregnancy--and despite the very best intentions, these do not maintain their integrity when exposed to such high temperatures.
7. Leave your maternity jeans enough free space! Be sure that the washing machine is not overly full. If your jeans do not have enough room to rotate, unsightly washing stripes may appear.
